The school is located at a shelter for victims of abuse and their families to live and heal in a safe, resourceful and comfortable environment. We also serve students that are housed in an emergency children's shelter after being removed from their homes by Child Protective Services. We provide education, counseling, shelter, and safety for survivors to rehabilitate, gain independence from their abuser, and relearn how to maintain healthy relationships, as well as any other support the family needs. The trauma my students have endured in their short lives is hard to comprehend. But despite their adversity, the students are thriving and love to learn. They long for a sense of normalcy in their lives. They constantly recommend more complexity, more technology, and yearn for a deeper learning that our school just doesn't have the funds to provide. Hopefully, with your help, they can!
