I am a self-contained teacher of students with moderate to severe intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism. All students are served in special education at a low socio-economic high school in South Carolina. My students want nothing more than to fit in with their peers. They have similar hopes and dreams. My students love participating in Unified Sports and everything that high school has to offer. We are cheerleaders, we attend the prom, we have jobs in the community and give everything 100%. My classroom is a community and my students are family.
