These items will help my students continue to learn despite the pandemic. They will help my students learn and develop socially and emotionally through Dramatic Play. My students will make connections with other students and learn how to take turns, share, respect others, and learn to respect items in the classroom. They will be learning without actually realizing they are learning which is so fun to watch! These "pretend play" items will allow my students the opportunity to use their imaginations, express themselves creatively, use problem-solving skills while learning, and build relationships with other children their age. These items will provide my students the opportunity to express their feelings and thoughts through play. The Table & Chair Set, along with the pretend food, will be used in our classroom's home living kitchen area. Students will have the opportunity to "concoct" their own recipes, serve food, create imaginary scenarios, work as a team, and develop much needed socialization skills. Many Kindergarteners do not have the opportunity at home to play with other children in a play kitchen; therefore I would love to provide them with this opportunity. The "Around Town Play Carpet" & the "Block Play Traffic Signs" will be used in our classroom's block & car area where they will be provided with open-ended learning experiences. They will be able to use their imagination, mathematical & problem-solving skills, along with enhancing their hand-eye coordination. The "Pet Vet Center"will give my students the opportunity to take turns in pretending to play the role of a Veterinarian or the pet's owner. I would love to have all these items as they will help my students develop much needed life-long skills. These items will not only help my students this year, but also my students in future years to come. Thank you!!
