I am a teacher at Capitol Heights Academy (CHA), in Oak Park CA. Capitol Heights Academy is a Charter school sponsored by the Sacramento County School District. CHA's current enrollment is 308 students our demographics include, 80% African American, 15% Latino, 3% white and 2% other. We also support a small community of emerging bilingual learners, most of whose first language is Spanish. 91% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Our students thrive in collaborative learning environments and are constantly challenging me to increase the rigor of our lessons. In my class we love to work together and make real world connections to our learning each day.
