Classes are more than teaching the alphabet to a row of quiet students. Classrooms are about building relationships and helping children find success. I love being pulled in many directions, giving hugs, checking for lice, wiping away tears, raising self-esteem, buying snacks for students who do not have food, providing feedback for improvement, loving the loud and the rude, focusing on the positive. Teaching is encouraging others to do their best even when they do not feel like it. I love being a teacher. Yet as much as I love my job, I cannot manage the task alone. Join me in helping my students obtain the resources they need to acquire the success they deserve.
