I am passionate about helping children to develop a love for reading. I believe that a love of reading is a stepping stone to becoming an enthusiastic learner and a confident reader, writer and speaker. With confidence and enthusiasm, children can enjoy a wonderful world of learning and exploration. The donations to this project will help inspire my students' to read. I am ordering mostly picture books, because most of my students are reading at a first grade level. With these picture books, it can help children develop a sense of self. “Long before they can read, children respond to images in an effort to place themselves and the others in their lives into the world around them,” according to Reading is Fundamental. These makes picture books are critical for academic learning and mental development.
