We have two main requests: - classroom supplies to help students stay organized - improving the representation and relevance of our in-class lending library Our students are primarily black and brown, while our hand-me-down books from other local school districts are mostly written by and feature main characters who are not. We want to make reading and writing more relevant and accessible for all students! We care deeply about social justice and would love to see the shelves of our classroom library reflect that. A few students have also specifically requested poetry books this year, which warms this English teacher's heart!
