Coming back into the classroom after being virtual, hybrid, somewhat virtual again has been exhausting for teachers and mostly students. I currently teach 5th grade writing and science in an urban school in Virginia. My students are a great mix from many different backgrounds with many different experiences and homelives. While I have students who are able to have families that provide them with materials, there are still many students who have families still struggling after COVID. My students come to school each day wanting to learn, experience and mostly with all that- have fun! I keep my classroom loud, engaging, productive but most importantly a safe space for kids to be kids. 💛
