99% of students at our school qualify for free and reduced lunch. Roughly half of our students are English language learners and performing below grade-level in many areas. My students are eager to learn, crave care and support, and show gratitude and respect. I believe each and every one of them has the ability to succeed and thrive. Technology in the school is sparse, increasing the achievement gap between low-income students and their peers. In a society reliant on technology, frequent and consistent use of a variety of types of technology is vital for students to keep up in an ever-changing world.
