For these students, the opportunities to participate in recreation and sport outside of school are few and far between. During a time when 1 in 5 school age children has obesity, it is more important than ever to expose students to a variety of physical activity and exercise. These folding mats and balance kit will be used to create a fun environment for students to learn basic gymnastics skills, practice balance, and participate in engaging obstacle courses. Both the gymnastic mats and balance bundle can also be used for several other games and activities that will dramatically increase interest in movement and exercise. This equipment can also be used by our Special Education department to help students maintain focus, increase balance, and provide needed brain-breaks.
