I am so excited to be a first year teacher! I have realized through my student teaching how important the classroom is, seeing the difference between online and in person learning. Because of this unique perspective, I would like to make social emotional learning in my classroom a priority. The items in this project will be instrumental in leading great conversations about feelings, as well as give us the means to do projects based on those discussions. The students missed out a lot due to online learning. Things just weren't possible in the online space. I have included several social emotional learning books to help guide discussions about feelings and how to deal with them. I have also included organizational items, such as a cart, and bins, to keep those supplies organized. The art supplies, laminator, laminating sheets, and poster paper will help us in our discussion about our emotions and preserve the projects we create based on those topics. I would also like a comfy rug for the classroom to create a welcoming environment. I appreciate your support, especially as a first year teacher! Thank you for setting up my students for success.
