I find a deep emotional satisfaction when taking intellectual risks, so to be a part of empowering someone else to discover the power and pleasure of using their mind is a great honor. Martin Luther King, Jr. said "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character -- that is the goal of true education." My hope for all students is that they will be ready for the future with both academic knowledge and the ability to appreciate the value of other human beings, especially those who may seem so different. Thank you for helping me support my students!
