I am requesting support to attend Teachers College Summer Writing Institute virtually. As an instructional coach for my school, the summer institute will help me to work alongside my colleagues as we consider ways to improve our writing instruction. This is an opportunity for me to impact hundreds of students by working with their teachers to provide the best instruction in writing. "If people cannot write well, they cannot think well, and if they cannot think well, others will do their thinking for them." ― George Orwell's quote continues to resonate when I think of our students. Writing is the tool or weapon that can lead to change. Change in their current circumstance. Change for their families. Change for their future.
