My students have a daily engaged reading block. I encourage them to use this precious time wisely to improve their reading skills. Having a classroom library allows students to use this time reading. By having books in the classroom, I can assist them in their book selections to ensure they choose books they want to read. A classroom library allows my students to quickly choose new books in class rather than spending the entire block in the hallway and library waiting in line to check out a new book. Students can choose books and read with partners to share their comprehension.
