If you have ever looked in a middle school backpack, you would have seen a sea of loose white papers! I want to color code everything. Tests and quizzes will be on pastel shades of paper and study guides, called foldables, will be created by the students on bright colored paper. Our foldables will be added into their interactive notebooks. Many of my students will carry the foldables on to future math classes as study tools/memory aides even beyond my classroom. For example, using different colors of paper to make a Venn Diagram for rational numbers. My students love making the foldables and say it is more fun to study using them, especially with a partner.
