This is my first year teaching and I would love to have a relaxing and inviting space for my students to use. During small group instruction I will be able to have my students sitting comfortably. Students will be able to relax while we work on reading and they will be able to concentrate on what is being read rather than worrying about how uncomfortable they are. I know its hard for me to enjoy a book or story when I am uncomfortable.
Students will also be able to use this space when they have free time and want to enjoy a good book. They will also be able to use this area to work on a color page or activity page or when they just need a break and need a little different environment. Students that are reading independently will be able to kick back, relax, and really dive into their books. I would love to be able to provide my students with a nice comfy place to sit and work on collaborative assignments. By creating this corner in my classroom I will be able to support my students learning and growth in a fun and inviting way.
