Flexible seating is SO beneficial for every student. Giving children the opportunity to CHOOSE where they sit is a powerful way to increase motivation, focus, and productivity. My students need more options, including comfy floor seats and portable lap desks. They need something other than a traditional “normal” school desk. I want my students to want to come to my classroom because of its inviting environment and feel. Creating an environment where students feel comfortable and calm will increase their focus and motivation because they aren’t struggling to feel comfortable. By incorporating these items and allowing students the freedom to move around, I feel that they would be more focused and engaged.
