One of the most difficult challenges in a musical classroom is an insufficient number instruments for each student to have one to play. Oftentimes my students pair up on an instrument and take turns to make sure that each child has access to the instrument. The instruments and equipment listed will help ensure that each student will have access to their very own instrument without the need to stop and share with a partner, and access to individualized instruction time to learn to play it! The Boomwhackers and Desk Bells will be used by each student at BABC to help with musical literacy, ensemble skills and performance, and musical composition. The ukuleles will go to increase the number of ukes we can use in grade-level and choir performances. The speaker and AppleTV will greatly help in teaching the skills needed to use these instruments; I will be able to project instructional materials and close-up demonstrations of ukulele fingerings/chord charts from anywhere in the room, along with a much-needed speaker in the classroom!
