Block play enhances learning in all areas. Block play requires fine and gross motor skills. Blocks enhance children’s problem-solving abilities, mathematics skills, and language and literacy abilities. When children are able to construct they gain feelings of success through trial and error. The students are able daily to investigate what blocks can do and block play encourages their critical thinking. When children are provided plenty of space and materials in their environment, as well as plenty of time to engage in block play, we are supporting their learning in all of the STEAM areas. Currently we have some Legos and small wooden blocks. We are very excited to add to our resources!
