Many things can be done with a tuner! They would be used daily in our fundamental practice and learning. In order to be successful, students need to be able to identify the notes they are playing. The tuner is especially helpful for this when students are practicing alone. Brass students have to navigate intervals which can be tough when one position plays many different notes. A tuner can help with that! Lastly, because my students are all playing wind instruments it is crucial that they are playing with a steady sound. This is much easier to achieve when they have a visual in front of them. All of this is crucial to their success as musicians and people! Hopefully, they will take this training with them to college scholarship auditions!
