A new variety of guided reading books at multiple levels will help my student's learn to love reading, as well as improve their literacy skills. These books are high interest and low leveled, which will meet the needs and interests of my students. It is challenging to provide high interest topic books to upper elementary students who are low-leveled readers. Low interest topic books often only increase their frustration and lower their self-confidence. The colorful pictures will engage their interests and inspire them to continue to want to read. These materials will build their confidence in reading to other peers, family members, and themselves.
