My students have been expelled from their regular school setting and have to attend the court school where I teach. Sometimes it is difficult to motivate them but when they are motivated the sense of accomplishment is worth all of the hard work! They need love and patience and understanding. At times they show this need in a negative manner but they show up to school and do their best to transition back to the regular school that they were expelled from. Most of them are low-income and English learners. Life for them has been tough but they struggle to improve themselves on a daily basis.
