Specimens for Comparative Anatomy
Funded Sep 25, 2025Thank you so much for donating to this project. We are short on science funds this year. I know I can count on donorschoose to help get my students the materials they need to have fun in the classroom. Thanks! This donation was also made possible by the Lemme family. Thanks!”

Funded Aug 21, 2025Thank you so much for donating to the project. Can't wait to teach this unit and attend the Unified games with our signs and cards to give out to the students. My students will make cards congratulating the students on hard played game. I will give the cards to the special needs coach. Thanks again!”

Funded Aug 20, 2025Thanks so much for the continued support! I’m excited to try using the Osmosis Chambers because I like that there are measurements on the side. I’m very curious to see how these measure up as a model of the cell to the dialysis bags we typically use. Can’t wait to update you all with photos.”

Funded Aug 20, 2025Thank you so much for all the incentives and games. We just started the school year and so glad to have these items to make everything fun! Can't wait to update you. We will be using the resources immediately once the materials arrive. I can't wait to make more laminate cards and review games so kids can win prizes and snacks.”

Funded Mar 25, 2025Thank you so much for the photo paper and photo printer. It was so awesome for my students to be able to connect on their smart phone and print any picture they wanted from our field trips we went on. On one of our field trips we went to the Ventura Botanical Garden and they printed all the cool plants they found. Some students used it for plant identification and others used it for mementos that they will cherish forever. We also appreciate the soap and cleaning supplies for the students to stay health and get rid of germs. Especially as I teach lab based classes, students are constantly needing to clean up and wash their hands, and clean their space. Having a clean space really helps the students feel comfortable to learn. We also used the TPT gift card to to print out stencils and other graphic organizers for biology and for the clubs that I run.”

Funded May 5, 2025Thank you so much for the TPT gift card, earthworms, watering spikes, and other various materials. It was so helpful to have those in the spring and be able to continue to use some of those resources in the fall. My lab assistants last spring set up all 30 + watering stakes and set up a drip. We have close to 50 plants so setting up a drip for all of the plants is extremely important. It was also a great way for students to take initiative of their learning space. The students really love all of the plants. We did our dissection unit and were able to use the earthworms as our first dissection as we learned about physiology and body systems. The TPT gift cards came in handy for students that did not want to participate during the dissections because they were absent and missed the lab. There were so many great hand outs and paper based model dissections that I was able to use instead.”

Funded May 10, 2025Thank you so much for the materials for my clubs and students. They really enjoyed designing and making new buttons for our trip to the Ventura Botanical Garden. Our club president created several different protypes and we agreed on three different ones. Students proudly wore their field trip garden button and we got lots of questions and compliments on them. My students even passed some of them out to the volunteers working at the Botanical Garden. The new buttons are a great way to build peer-to-peer relationships and spark creativity. We are excited about the new grow credits too. Can't wait for the students to harvest their new crops of the school year. We look forward to our upcoming field trips and activities this year and continue to use the button machines.”

Funded Mar 24, 2025Thank you so much for completing this project. We really appreciated the specimens to complete our anatomy and physiology unit. My students were able to dissect the earthworm, grasshopper, frog and rat safely. They loved the new tools as they were sharp. Students loved using the stereoscope to study all of the features of each organism and compare them to others to look at similarities and differences among the four we did. The students loved learning about how the variety of organisms move. From the earthworm to the rat they enjoyed looking up close to see these features like the grooves and lines on a rat's hand and a the spines on a grasshopper leg. We also did a tie dye project. My students collected old white clothes they had and we re-purposed them by tie dying them. Students then wore their up cycled clothes on our field trip to the Botanical Garden. Thank you so much for creating these fun memories. We had so much fun in May and June of the school year!”

An Organized Student Supply Center
Funded Mar 4, 2025Thank you so much for the organizational materials. I wish I had taken a before photo to show you the make over and the difference you made in my classroom. In the photos I attached you can see an organized student supply space with vertical storage of markers, highlighters, and colored pencils. There are also wall file folders where students can get hand outs. The paper, colored pencils, sharpies, and markers were extremely important for our biological molecules comic book project. The projects turned out phenomenal with vibrant colors. I taped them up in our hallway and students that I don't teach were complimenting how great these were. My students love the ceiling covers so much. The classroom I am in gets decent light from our window but we do need a little overhead. The fluorescent light is just not appealing and there is no dimmer. It sort of reminds you of a dated 1980s classroom. The ceiling covers are the perfect solution to cover up the eye sores and create an ambiance that is inviting and nurturing. My students love coming to class.”

It's Owl Good
Funded Jan 19, 2025Thank you so much for the Owl Pellet Lab Kit and materials. My environmental science students had so much fun doing this lab. They were talking about it all week. My environmental science class is a group of unique students. They have struggled in the past biology and chemistry but are committed to turning things around their junior and senior year. It's been so rewarding to see them grow so much and be engaged. They loved learning about owls and their behavior adaptations. They were truly amazing going through the pellets and finding all the bones of creatures the owl ate. It was sort of like a treasure hunt. After they collected all the bones they had to put bones under the stereoscope to make observations and see them up close. Then at the end they got to sterilize the bones and glue them on a nice card board mount to showcase their hard work. This project really meant so much to this group of students and I know they will remember it forever. I used the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card to purchase some great lessons and diagrams about biological molecules. My 9th graders loved all the color coding to help them better understand carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids. For their culminating project, they had to create a super heroes based on 4 biological molecules of life. Next week my biology students are going to be learning about the Cell Cycle, Meiosis and Mitosis. My environmental science students will be learning about invasive species.”
