Most people can vividly recall memories made in 3rd grade. Unfortunately, not all those memories are good ones. My goal is to ensure that each and every child who steps into my 3rd grade bilingual math class feels that they are being met exactly where they are - no matter learning style they have! I strive to provide my students with as many learning resources as possible so a LEGO wall in our classroom would be the perfect addition! The LEGO wall will give students the opportunity to learn through trial and error. My students will use the LEGO wall to explore, create, experiment and reflect. Hands-on learning is not only engaging but allows for a deeper understanding of the concepts they are learning. My students thrive in a classroom where they can create which is why they loved the idea of learning multiplication, problem solving and fractions with the LEGO wall as all three concepts are the core of 3rd grade math. This school year I have been given the opportunity to teach science and computer-science as well. We would love to use the LEGO Movie Maker to create LEGO versions of the water and life cycle. A LEGO wall is a perfect way to incorporate all 3 subjects AND engineering concepts into our classroom! The possibilities are endless! We can't wait to start creating!
