My students are a very ethnically diverse group that all have aspirations of going to college. They attend a public high school in a community that values high educational standards. About ten years ago, our school benefited from the Digital High School Grant provided by the state of California. Our teachers and students learned to use modern technology as tools for instruction. Since the grant money ran out, however, we have not had the technology funds to keep our student/teacher technology up to date.
