My students are military children. Our school is on a military base. A good majority of my students have at least one parent deployed. The students love to read and I believe that reading takes their minds off of deployments and missing their parents. The students have come to me on many days and told me that they miss their parents. When we read stories, the students have so many ideas and get excited about doing school activities. I feel that if the students had new books, they would be more excited about coming to school.
