My science students are eager to learn about an unseen world right under their noses! This requested Binocular Compound Microscope with slides and accessories will open up this world as we explore cells and microscopic organisms. By having one microscope that I can manipulate as their teacher, this world will come to light. Our microscope will be paired with a camera and the Epson LCD projector so that all students can view these tiny life forms on the big screen, even those who have a visual impairment. Giving low-income students access to new technology is an investment in their future. By being able to gift them with these items to share with them an unknown world, they will be inspired and continue to work hard. Our classrooms as a 6th grade are not yet at the level of technology to meet their needs as learners. With currently no microscopes, knowledge of entire kingdoms of life and understanding of our bodies will be missing. A little appreciation goes a long way, especially for things microscopic.
