My students come from a similar background. Many of them come from Spanish speaking homes where both parents work. Most of the student's parents must work more than one job to make ends meet. My students are interested in the world around them and enjoy learning about different cultures. Reading about others gives them insight into other cultures. The book choices are very limited at my school and I feel the students need to be exposed to more! The students rarely get to hold a new book in their hands and when they get the opportunity it is very exciting for them!
