I have used citizen science apps in my classroom for several years to encourage students to get outside, appreciate nature, and identify organisms that live in their community. One of the drawbacks of some of these apps is the challenge of getting a good photograph of the organism in order to help identify it. Students usually don't have a great camera to use and don't yet have the skills to take good photos. This project would allow me to help inspire students to learn more about local organisms, take photos of these organisms, and also contribute to citizen science projects.
