My students and community are fabulous. I do not teach in a high income area, but I have great support from parents/families in other ways. My students are diverse in culture, backgrounds and learning levels. I have children with autism, children from foster care, children with two parents, those with single parents, and some that are being raised by grandparents. I have first graders who read on a seventh grade level, and those who do not yet know their letter sounds. All of the children have one thing in common however - they are happy and they love to learn!
