Reading is a daily activity that my students have grown to absolutely love. They now read both to extend their learning and for joy. Sadly, some of my classroom library books were recently stolen from my room, meaning fewer students can dive into reading. Replacing these books would mean that my students can continue gaining confidence in their reading, learn new vocabulary words, put reading strategies to the test independently, and read for enjoyment. Students are truly grateful for opportunities to read- my first graders get the biggest smiles on their faces when they hear that their reading buddies (4th grade) are coming to listen to them. I want to foster that love of reading even more.
