Currently, my students are provided with typical desks and chairs for a middle school classroom. However, over the last several years research has supported that kids are better able to focus and learn when they have not confined the hard uncomfortable desk chairs that are provided. Having alternative flexible seating options will give my classroom a more comfortable inviting feeling that enhances the learning environment. This will encourage and boost my students' motivation to attend class and allow them to feel comfortable and relaxed while they tackle the rigorous content of middle school academics. I hope to provide my students with the freedom of choice with their seating options this school year and in the future!
