This project will help put real books into the little hands of our emergent readers while they are learning from home. Learning to read remotely can be challenging. Yet, our students come to their online reading lessons every day eager to learn. We've noticed that many of our students do not have their own books at home often rely on digital reading platforms and e-books. While these tool are certainly helpful, they are simply not enough. All children deserve REAL books. Physical copies of books will give our youngest learners the authentic learning experiences they need to develop strong foundational reading skills. New books will give students the opportunity to practice the skills and strategies that are taught during remote lessons, while at the same time, giving their eyes a break from the screen.
