Our middle and high school bands are part of a nationwide consortium of schools that commissioned three new concert band pieces (to be performed over the next three years). Our school is the only New England School to participate, making these regional premiere performances especially important. We are requesting loudspeakers that will be used as floor monitors for the Middle and High School Bands while they perform music from our Electro-Acoustic repertoire. During rehearsal, these speakers will be utilized in the rear of the classroom so the students can become immersed in, and blend with the electronic sound. Without a solid reference for the electronic sounds, our band cannot successfully integrate our acoustic sound during live performance. These speakers will also serve our school music program during band, jazz band, and choir concerts. Sound reinforcement in our auditorium is inconsistent, and the high quality of these speakers will certainly help bring our processed sound to the next level.
