When you are in elementary school, having a dollar in your hand can make you feel as rich as a king! My students love to talk about how rich they are when they have a few dimes or even a penny they found on the playground.
My students want to learn more about the concept and value of money. Having illustrated children's stories about money will help make difficult financial literacy skills and understanding accessible for my class. They will be able to learn facts about money and engage in countless math activities to fine tune their financial understanding using our new iPad and case as a math and money center.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders want a lot of different things, but understanding that money must be spent on needs first can be a tough lesson. These tools will allow my students to engage in discussions about money, wants, needs, and priorities.
Allowing my students exposure to financial literacy and money management early in their education will help them develop the financial literacy skills they need to be successful in their lives.
