My third graders have a passion for reading and are confident mathematicians. Almost all come from low-income families and qualify for free or reduced lunch. Despite facing many hardships, my students are eager to learn and enjoy coming to school each day. I try to foster that excitement by teaching math with hand-ons lessons and teaching reading through student-led book clubs. In addition to their academic growth, my students continue to impress me by growing as leaders. They help and care for others in the most meaningful ways. They have learned to ignore the negative things going on around them and focus on making positive choices. They encourage and support each other when someone is struggling and celebrate each other's successes. Thank you for taking the time to consider funding my class project. Your donation will be greatly appreciated by many.
