I try to give my students multiple spaces to work during our bell so they are not constantly at their desks. I have two small group tables and a cozy corner near our classroom library. I need to maximize our space, and the stools will definitely help with that! Our chairs are quite large and take up room even when pushed in. Plus, the stools can stack easily! The cards will help build key skills and promote independent and peer practice. The head phone jack will allow multiple students to listen to literature on a computer and still work together as a small group. This is something I am very excited about using. Dry erase markers will allow students to use their desks as a tool for quick checks of understanding. We can also use them on dry erase boards in small groups. Students are known to learn and retain more in small groups than in whole group instruction. I want to give them the space and tools to reach their full potential.
