Reading, writing, acting, singing songs, the middle school students in my classroom express themselves and their understanding in a great variety of ways. Students in our Constructivist program take an active role in their learning and pursue topics and areas of study that excite them. My students are as diverse as the urban Oregon neighborhood in which they live. Our school brings together students of all ethnic groups and income levels. About 30% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch programs.
