Flexible seating provides students with various options (in seating) while they are learning. The typical seating arrangement for students in a classroom is at their desks or on a carpet space, which has certainly worked over the years. However, many students struggle to sit in traditional classroom desks/seats for long periods of time, and ultimately begin to lose focus. Flexible seating has changed the classroom dynamic tremendously over the years. It has allowed students options for seating in the classroom, which increases focus and student engagement. How can sitting on a bouncy ball helps students focus?? This may seem odd, but having the option to make subtle movements, perhaps on a wobble seat, decreases the urge to make larger movements that may be disruptive. In addition to that, flexible seating creates a cozy, comfortable classroom environment. Help me to create that experience for my students this year!
