Our Title 1 school is located in a rural town in Eastern North Carolina. This is our third year of our K-10 Charter School, which focuses on the 8 Multiple Intelligences (MI's): Visual-Spatial, Logical- Mathematical, Verbal-Linguistic, Bodily-Kinesthetic, Naturalist, Musical-Rhythmic, Interpersonal and Intrapersonal. Our Kindergarten classroom facilitates center-based instruction and all students demonstrate successes in these learning centers. Our centers focus on all of the 8 MI's, which helps to develop an intrinsic love of learning in a fun, kinesthetic atmosphere. Our class is made up of 20 students, a teacher and a teacher assistant. Students range in a variety of cognitive and social-emotional levels. We work hard to provide each child with positive and challenging learning experiences. As a result, we will be developing happy and successful learners and each child will feel successful by using many or all of their 8 MI "smarts"!
