I teach a very active group of first graders! One of the favorite things they enjoy doing is playing on my iPads. With only 2 iPads, my students do not get to participate every day with them. I'm hoping by building up my technology center each child will be able to have an opportunity each day for hands-on leaning through technology. The students in my school are middle to low income. I teach in a Title I school with 90% of the kids receive free or reduced lunches. We have many students that participate in the backpack program where they receive a bag of food to help them with hunger over the weekend. We have a church that adopts the students at our school. The beginning of the year they give each student a backpack full of supplies. My students are witty and intelligent with limited financial means. Many do not even have computers, much less iPads. Some of the students only have technology access while they are at school. I spend my own money buying different apps and other programs.
