This summer, I read about World Language teachers who have created a class library (fiction and non-fiction) to motivate students to read in the target language. The books offer a low-stress opportunity to read and practice authentic texts. The library includes fictional stories written originally in Spanish and some familiar stories that have been translated into Spanish. After 4 months of Spanish Language and Culture, my students are ready to read! Students will be choosing books from our classroom library twice a week to supplement our classes. Students will be sharing their favorites and making recommendations. I want to ignite their love of reading and show them that they can read in Spanish!!
