Giving our room access to technology through the addition of tablets will allow our students to connect their learning to the world around them. It will also give them access to learning options that are not readily available to them currently in their classroom or at home. Our students are being raised in a technological driven world but with limited access to technology at home and limited access to it currently in our room it puts our students at a disadvantage to being able to compete. With the addition of these iPads to our room, I can start adding a technology center to our daily learning and our students can start using technology as a tool to enhance the learning they are already doing. We will be able to give them access to materials that can extend their learning, connect with other learners globally, and make the home/school connection more meaningful. As an educator it is my responsibility to ensure that when my students leave my room they are ready to take the next steps in learning and solving problems that affect their world. With the integration of technology, I can better give them the opportunities and access they need to be successful!
