It is important to me that my kids are up, moving around, and examining artifacts from the past while they learn. I like to have them see objects from the past and ask questions about them. Having historical artifacts displayed around the room makes it so that history is all around them and helps to keep them engaged and interested in what we are learning. Many of the items that will be purchased for this project will be used as primary and secondary source materials for students to interact with and analyze as part of their lesson, including analyzing propaganda posters and buttons from WWII and Women's Suffrage. Many of the materials will be used in activities and lessons where students will move from one station to the next, examining the artifacts, and then analyzing their usage and effectiveness.
