The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in science. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what students are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work and ideas. What becomes a problem is the fact that we have a lot of students who are learning online, making it difficult for students to show me their work and upload whiteboard examples of my own. I have implemented the use of the Google Jamboard program to be able to help my virtual learning students, as well as students in class. With Jamboard, I can engage all students in the learning process, whether working together in a traditional classroom, a group setting, or through distance learning. The Jamboard app requires the use of a touchscreen and stylus, which I currently do not have. I have been borrowing an iPad from one of the technology carts in our school, but do not consistently have access to one. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
