My students come for a low economic background where most of their parents are either incarcerated, deceased because of gang related violence, suffer from alcoholism or drug addiction, high school dropouts or lack an educational background pass high school. But, there is a brighter light at the end of this tunnel where my school serves as a place where students can call their home away from home. With each loving teacher who goes the extra mile to ensure that our students are moving upward academically as well as socially. We believe our students will break the cycle of their community and are well on their way to become great leaders that will develop into role models one day. Besides their surroundings in their neighborhood,(government housing units that surround the school area), the students know they can come to school and be safe. The students feel safe because they know that the school teachers and staff all love and care for them as if they are our own children.
