My students are WONDERFUL. Together we've built a safe and fun learning environment. They're competitive, curious, rambunctious, and full of life. I wouldn't change a thing. Throughout their 2nd grade year, I have really worked on building their confidence and being involved. We have collected soda tabs for our local Ronald McDonald House, adopted an elephant from The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, and sent/received letters from our mayor and governor. We proudly call ourselves NERDS! This upcoming school year we will continue our contributions and involvement in our community. Exposure to real life experiences is crucial for well rounded and successful adults. Some people that they look up to are W.E.B. DuBois, Thurgood Marshall, Amelia Earhart, Theodore Roosevelt, George Washington Carver, and Eleanor Roosevelt. They're all people who are courageous, intelligent, and innovative. My school is a high poverty, Title 1 school. Our school serves a diverse population of over 900 students. They are our future.
