Hello! My name is Ashley Cervantes and I teach 7th and 8th grade English, drama and speech and debate. I have spent my entire life immersed in the exact subjects I teach, and I can honestly say that reading and the performing arts have shaped my life in a positive way. Now that I work with students on these subjects, I get the awesome opportunity to see the other side of the spectrum: how these subjects change the students I work with. There is nothing better than to see a student's eyes light up when he finally grasps a new skill in English, or to hear the confidence in a student during her first performance in front of a live audience after she spent months perfecting her lines. I want to provide the best for my students, not just because they deserve the best, but also because I know that reading and the performing arts will have an impact on them just as it has on me.
