By purchasing the various seating options, my students will have more power over their learning. Many of these seating options allow for students to move around, allowing them to better focus on learning. We are not a classroom composed of cookie cutter learners, so it is important that each child be able to choose his/her own comfortable place to sit each day where he/she feels most successful in the classroom all while supporting the sense of family and community in the classroom. Traditional desks and chairs are still available, but it is important to realize that not all children learn best sitting in one seat all day long. Flexible seating allows the students to have independence and take ownership of learning in the classroom.
