As a teacher I have noticed an increase in the expected amount of time Kindergartners need to sit throughout the day. The more demanding the thought process for each subject seems to correlate with a higher level of movement in all students, but even greater with those students that are having a difficult time learning. There has been an increase in physically aggressive behavior in Kindergarten within my teaching career. My students need an outlet for some of their excess energy. I am asking for three ball chairs so my kids can exercise and also focus. These chairs allow students to focus for a longer period of time, while creating a more engaging learning environment. Giving students the ability to move during learning. We will be able to see the positive effects and long term benefits of using the movable seating through observing student achievement, self control and positive engagement.
